Vermont Food Animal Veterinary Education Loan Repayment Program
Since 2011, the Vermont legislature has allocated $30,000 annually to the Vermont Food Animal Veterinary Education Loan Repayment Program (VFAVELRP) to support repayment of veterinary student loans of food animal veterinarians willing to practice in underserved areas of Vermont.   The Vermont Veterinary Medical Association administers the program, and we are pleased to announce that Drs. Elizabeth Brock and Thomas Linden of Northwest Veterinary Associates received awards in November 2017.

This program is contingent upon continued funding by the Vermont legislature to the Vermont Agency of Agriculture and we hope that the legislature will continue funding in 2018.    Applicants do not have to be members of the VVMA. If funding is approved, applications will be accepted for our fall 2018 round of awards, and the deadline for submission will be October 31.  Applicants do not have to be members of the VVMA. Click here for an application and an overview of the program from 2017.

The VVMA is pleased to be involved in this important effort, and please contact Vermont State Veterinarian Dr. Kristin Haas (kristin.haas@vermont.gov), or VVMA Executive Director Kathy Finnie (kathy@vtvets.org) if you have any questions.
