The Dave Walker Award

The Dave Walker Award is given when deemed appropriate to a VVMA member veterinarian who best exemplifies the qualities exhibited by Dr. David U. Walker. As a strong advocate for animal health, agriculture, and the well-being of veterinarians in Vermont, the late Dr. Walker tirelessly served not only our state association but also the veterinary profession as a whole.

The VVMA Dave Walker Award is the VVMA's most prestigious award. This award is not presented every year, only on occasions when someone merits special recognition for their professional and personal achievements. If you know of a VVMA member who has exhibited unsurpassed dedication to the VVMA and our profession, please feel free to send a letter of nomination to the VVMA.

 

2011 - Dr. Julie Moenter

At our Summer Meeting, we were pleased to give the 2011 David Walker Award to Dr. Julie Moenter of Bristol Animal Hospital.  Julie has been a former VVMA President twice (!), is ending an eight year term as the VVMA’s Delegate to the AVMA, and has been involved in countless VVMA projects.  She has exhibited unsurpassed dedication to the VVMA and our profession for many years, and is a well-deserved recipient of the VVMA’s most prestigious award.  Congratulations to Julie, and thank you for your many years of commitment to veterinarians and to the VVMA.
