Dyamite
Our next award recipient is Dynamite, owned by Ann Pierce of Friendly Pony Farm in Manchester, VT. He is 37 years old and still going strong. Dynamite was nominated by VVMA member veterinarian Dr. Robert Wendell.
Dynamite, a child size pony, just adores children! He spends his days attending birthday parties, fairs, and family events. He has been known to help with many school projects and participate in theater productions. (He is a reliable stand in for the donkey during Christmas nativity scenes.) Whether he is giving you a ride or pulling you and your friends in a cart, Dynamite always succeeds in putting a smile on your face and cheer in your heart. He also achieves this result with the many disabled and autistic children he works with. Over the years, Dynamite has participated in many instructional sessions, teaching young children pony riding, horse care and safety. Dynamite was officially retired in 1998 at a lavish party with many friends in attendance. But Dynamite was never one to be left behind and still attends many events where he stands quietly while any child coming near can lull him to sleep with 5 minutes of brushing.
The VVMA would like to induct Dynamite into the Vermont Animal Hall of Fame in the Companion Animal Category.
